What will I learn?
As part of your ReOC process, you will receive coaching from our Senior Instructors on how to complete a Job Safety assessment and Risk Assessment, where to find the required information in order to ensure that you are fully competent in when, where and how to fly safely in advance of your CASA delegate review.
The Mission Preparation Workshop will cover Job Safety Assessments, Risk Assessments, the CASA Risk Rating Matrix, approved sources of information, responsibilities of a Chief Remote Pilot and Maintenance Controller and record keeping requirements, where and how to get the information, how to submit approvals and exemptions to CASA and where to obtain key sources of information. It will be similar to the workshop you completed for your RePL theory, however, this workshop will go into a little more detail so that you are ready to complete your ReOC with the CASA delegate.
Why do I need a Remote Operators Certificate (ReOC)? How much does it cost?
The Remote Operators Certificate (ReOC) allows qualified Remote Pilots to offer their services for reward i.e., to charge for the services that they provide and to seek permissions and approvals to operate within 3nm of a controlled airport, restricted airspace or outside of Standard Operating Conditions.
The Remote Operators Certificate (ReOC) also allows you to hire other pilots under your certification, a key enabler to growth and expansion to your business.
While the Remote Pilots Licence (RePL) allows a qualified Remote Pilot to fly within the weight category assigned by their licence, the Remote Operators Certificate (ReOC) allows them to charge for their services, either as the Chief Remote Pilot for their own business or as the Chief Remote Pilot operating for a client’s business.
A key advantage of the Remote Operators Certificate (ReOC) is the ability to hire other Remote Pilots to work under their certificate allowing ReOC holders to grow their business over time.
Holders of a Remote Operator’s Certificate (ReOC) are also permitted to seek exemptions and permissions to perform operations that are normally not permitted under regulations. These could include flying at night, flying within 30 metres of people, extended line of sight, beyond visual line of sight and flying within controlled airspace or above 400ft.
The ReOC process also requires operators to have a comprehensive library of manuals and procedures which are provided as part of the ReOC fee. Once applicants complete the required forms, their manuals and procedures are developed, and they are placed in the queue with a CASA Delegate who will provide them with a Mission Scenario.
Applicants are required to complete a comprehensive Job Safety Assessment and Risk Assessment in order to complete the mission scenario and then to complete a telephone review with the CASA Delegate.
If you intend to fly an aircraft in excess of 2kg or you integrate Remote Pilot Operations into your existing business or intend to use your remotely piloted aircraft for the purpose of earning an income or for research you should also hold a Remote Operators Certificate (ReOC). ReOC Price $2,035

This course is delivered Online, you can review modules at your own pace, using or industry leading Learning Management System (LMS), Google and Apple Apps. The online courses are interactive video based modules broken into bite sized lessons supported by real-time and recorded webinars and tutorials, quizzes, videos and one on one sessions with our instructors.

How are courses delivered?
Courses are delivered asynchronously using our state of the art Learning Management System (LMS) and Apple and Android Applications, enabling learners to access bite sized lessons, supported by virtual training, quizzes, videos, real-world examples, exam preparation and tutorials. For our Corporate and University customers we also off a range of training modes to align with learners schedules and training calendars.
